Career Fair
The Career Fair was the biggest event at Tech I think I have ever been to so far. Except for the football games. There were tables set up everywhere imaginable. It was quite a bit overwhelming! For the most part I saw tables set up for business majors and engineering majors. I did however see one that was for psychology majors, so I stopped and talked to them for quite a while. This year I think the career fair just scared me. When I am a junior and senior I think the career fair will really help me out, because then I will have a more clear idea of what I want to do with my life. As for this year I just had fun collecting pens, papers, and freebies. Better luck next year I guess.

College of Business Organization Meeting
I went to two of the college of business meetings just to see different sides of business opportunities. The first meeting I attended was the Study Abroad meeting. I learned that there are so many options so that studying abroad isn't impossible to do. I am really excited about traveling and I hope that I get to go somewhere with in the next year or so. The second meeting reassured me that I will never be an accountant. The accounting meeting didn't make much sense at all to me and I instantly knew that it would never be the job for me. I do have a lot of respect for people in that major because it does take a lot of knowledge, just not the kind I have. If I further myself in the business world it will be in entrepreneurship and that is as far as I think I want to go as far as business goes. I would love to be able to own my own store one day. So the accounting club might not be the place to go to for help.
Student Organization Meeting
For class today several different student groups came and talked to us about more business groups going on at Tech. I learned that there are clubs, organizations, fraternities, and even study abroad groups available here. The one that interested me the most at the meeting was the study abroad opportunity. I know that I am highly interested in traveling while I learn, but I am not to sure when a good time for that would be. I will definitely look in to it more just to understand what is going on better. The Study Abroad Fair is coming soon so I will get good information on upcoming opportunities.
Community Service Project
The Warrior Dash was in Tennessee for the first time this year in Manchester. It was at the same location Bonaroo is. The Warrior Dash was not only a 5K race, it was an obstacle course too. There was a total of 10 obstacles through out the course. We had to climb over walls, jump through tires, go over cars, army crawl through a dark tent in the mud, go under several barb wires, climb over and down different kinds of huge walls, jump over fire, and swim through 3 feet of mud all while running the long 3.15 miles. I have ran several 5Ks before for other causes, but this one was by far the hardest. Usually I finish in 30 min but this one took me a little longer. I finished with mud from head to toe, blisters all over my feet, and sweat everywhere all in 45 minutes. I am a girly girl so having mud on me was quite the sacrifice! Oh and I am still recovering from the deep blisters by the way! After the race everyone took off there shoes to donate and put them in a pile that ended up being almost 10 feet tall. Thousands of people ran the race in groups all throughout the day. The end of the day result was thousands of muddy and accomplished people, shoes over 10 feet tall, and a little over 1 million dollars raised to support people in poverty. I would say that serves as a good day!
Community Service Selection
For my community service I ran in the 5K Warrior Dash in Manchester Tennessee. This project has already been approved in class, because it was for a cause.
